he final Wickham Public Domain Plan endorsed by council is difficult to find on the City of Newcastle website.  The only place it appears to be published is in the meeting agenda for the Ordinary Council Meeting held 23 Nov 2023.   At this meeting the councillors endorsed the plan, so it is this version that is current (as at May 2025).

As of May 2025, the detail design for the Union Street upgrade between Station and Throsby Streets is progressing and should be finished by end June 2025.  City of Newcastle has approved funding in the 2025/26 capital budget for construction to commence.  The project could take 2 to 3 years, or more, since it will need to be scheduled in stages to minimise disruption.  The latest total cost estimate is expected around $23 million, with stormwater and ground contamination being most of this cost.
