The traffic plans have evolved over time, and but City of Newcastle do not revise or superseded previous documents. City of Newcastle has advised that the traffic flow depicted in the Wickham Public Domain Plan is effectively the latest Wickham Local Area Traffic Management Plan.

GLOW expects the section of Station Street between Wickham and Union Streets to be changed from one-way to two-way as part of the Union Street upgrade. This will make it much easier for residents in Milhorn and WEST apartments to access their car parks, and alleviate some of the traffic on narrow Bishopsgate Street. The changing of Bishopsgate Street west of Union Street to one-way west-bound is part of this plan to reduce traffic on Bishopsgate Street. Similarly, making Union St one-way north-bound will further reduce traffic on Bishopsgate Street, and also on Union Street.
GLOW is unsure if the proposed one-way street along the south of Wickham Park should go ahead. If a car park is installed on the surplus railway land, then some think it should not connect to Holland Street and avoid through traffic using Wickham streets.. Others think it should be a two-way street to improve residents access in and out of Wickham. This is a work-in-progress.
GLOW is unsure about Union Street north of Throsby Street changing from how it currently is. Similarly, changing Furlong Lane east of Union Street may cause more problems than it solves. Another work-in-progress.
